WHAT:
Festivals Acadiens et Créoles 2025 Official Pin and Poster Unveiling is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, during the Second Saturday Artwalk at the Acadiana Center for the Arts (AcA) beginning at 5 p.m.
Canadian Acadian artist Francois Gaudet designed this year’s artwork utilizing a classic image taken by Elmore Morgan, Jr of Zachary Richard's revolutionary performance at the 1975 Tribute to Cajun Music which eventually morphed into the festival we know today.
Guests will be able to purchase the 2025 Festivals Acadiens et Créoles pin and poster at the event and during Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, taking place from October 10 to 12 at Girard Park in Lafayette, LA.
The pin and poster reveal is part of the Second Saturday Artwalk at AcA in Downtown Lafayette.

François Gaudet is an Acadian artist from Saint Bernard, Clare, Digby County, a community along the Nova Scotia Evangeline Trail. He is part of FrancoFae, a Louisiana-based fine arts exchange connecting visual artists who are descendants of Acadians from around the world. Gaudet’s poster was inspired by the late Elemore Morgan, one of Acadiana’s great art legends.
Gaudet’s artistic path began at age eleven, when his father, a photographer, placed a medium-format camera in his hands. In that moment, François discovered the “mythical eye” of the lens — and with it, a lifelong passion for visual storytelling.
As an exchange student at the San Francisco Art Institute, he deepened his creative perspective, later earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography with a minor in painting from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was there that François began blending the disciplines of photography and painting, exploring the ways these mediums intersect, enrich, and transform one another to create more layered visual narratives.
About Festivals Acadiens et Créoles: Festivals Acadiens et Créoles takes place annually in Lafayette, LA, at the heart of French-speaking Louisiana, also known as Acadiana, where the rich cultures of Cajun and Creole continue to thrive.
